I design soft, romantic knitting patterns and have strong opinions about knit socks. Here you'll find yarn, tea, gardening, and a daily cheerful thing. I used to practice law, but now I'm nobody's lawyer. she/her

I love learning new vocabulary on the Internet 😍 (I knew about coprolites, but regurgitalites are new to me)

This feels like a great opportunity to talk about 'regurgitalites'. Coprolites are poop fossils, regurgitalites are vomit fossils. Both can contain useful details about digestion in dinosaurs. In the case of predators, sometimes we find new species (or at least pieces of them) IN the vomit.

Morning update: lol everything hurts, what have I done (Easy fix, gonna get some coffee and breakfast with a friend, then swing by a store for some Advil and lozenges. We soldier on for yarn.)

I taught six hours of sock knitting classes today and had an absolute blast. I yapped so much my throat hurts now. What a treat.

There is a little girl here at the airport gate, maybe 8 years old, who has the cutest backpack dripping with keychains and stuffies. Her Crocs have sparkly charms and she has fuzzy earmuffs with puppy ears. I adore her maximalist style and hope she never loses it.

We’re finally watching House of the Dragon, and it is so confusing to see Ewan Mitchell play such an abominable character when he was so lovable in The Last Kingdom. Yes yes, it’s acting, I know, but my brain is still shaking itself like a cartoon character that got hit in the face with a frying pan

This post brought to you by my suitcase bursting with shawls, hats, socks, and mitts that I’m hauling with me to Flock Fiber Festival for the weekend. I bought compression packing cubes!

*standing up on the plane* Okay, so you have superwash wool and nonsuperwash wool, but you should know that neither of those wools should really go through the dryer despite their names. Nonsuperwash wool needs to be handwashed, which is not as big of a deal as you’ve been led to believe, and it has

This is funnier than it has any right to be.

Rebecca was something of an escape artist and Washington newspapers loved to report on her crimes, as seen in this clipping from the Library's historical newspaper archive.

Man, flossing is so great. It's like a good back scratch, but for your gums. Follow me for more deep wisdom.

We had the Muzzy tapes in Spanish. Little known fact: they also came with an English set, which is why I now run around saying, “Ah, I see, I SEE! To the computer room! Follow me!” And singing songs about Bob and Muzzy.

Do my sister and I still quote this ad to each other? Yes. Is it the only French we speak? Also yes. Do I know what it means? No.

The thing I love about collaborating on projects with friends is that it's so easy to talk about how awesome and creative and interesting my friends are. It makes marketing much more fun (and much easier, too). Give me any excuse to talk about my friends, I beg you!

Went for a walk in a floaty dress and giant sunglasses to go buy a bougie smoothie while listening to a playlist from college. Felt more like myself than I had in a long time.

Woke up from a dream about sea glass at 5:38. Low tide was a magnificent -1.6 at 5:17. Decided it was a sign so hustled myself out to the beach. This was my reward.

I see folks from Cycling Without Age in my Southern California neighborhood pretty regularly, and they make me so happy. What a great org.
