“Link + Popover Navigation” adrianroselli.com/2026/07/link... With `popover` support now extant, you can ditch the disclosure widget version and go JS-free. If you don’t like my layout choices (or SVGs), I link to variants from readers. There’s also a linked polyfill. #HTML #accessibility #a11y

Link + Popover NavigationThis is a redress of my 2019 post Link + Disclosure Widget Navigation, except (as the title implies), I’ve modified it to use native HTML popovers instead of ARIA or HTML disclosure widgets. Popover h...adrianroselli.com

Unclear if / how ShieldFont blocks scrapers. It feels relatively trivial for an LLM scraper to render the page and filch the content from the rendered output. I’ve seen decades of efforts to block copying text from sites. None worked, but *all* blocked SR users. caneandable.social/@WeirdWriter...

Robert Kingett (@WeirdWriter@caneandable.social)If you use this font to protect your text from AI, it also blocks *me, a human* because I use a screen reader. I did try the demo. If you want me to remove your RSS feed, this is the best font to prev...caneandable.social

Reminded of when AudioEye filed a SLAPP against me and its attorneys used untagged PDFs to do so. IMO, an indictment of AudioEye’s accessibility capability and its & its attorney’s ethics. Anyway, useful nuggets littered throughout the book, if you don’t have it: adrianroselli.com/2025/11/pre-...

I didn’t expect much, but I expected more than two people to get this t-shirt double reference. Three people genuinely thought it was the band alone. Also, I’m just flipping off people who wanted me to hurry up so they could pose by the sign. It’s not meant for you.

Like CSUNATC, I was turned away from a Disability:IN session. Unlike CSUNATC, I was able to sit outside the room and stream the session.

The 2026 State of CSS Survey results are out: 2026.stateofcss.com Unsurprised color features in CSS are most hated, despite last year’s survey’s odd focus on them. CSS carousels also fitting given they encode WCAG violations, break Separation of Concerns. #CSS

I appreciate this both acknowledges error & credits resources. Something I’d like to see more of from browsers (looks askance at Chrome). Key takeaways: • `aria-label` is code smell, • testing in only VoiceOver is always insufficient (as is testing in only one SR in general, but VO compounds it).

I made an accessibility error in one of my recent videos, and I want you to learn from my mistake: (sorry, yet another YT link - bsky video uploads are still broken) www.youtube.com/shorts/hPrZi...

A was a big fan of the original aViewer, so I look forward to trying this one. Probably on a VM to start.

On laptop and hotel wifi right now, but yesterday I got this message on my mobile. So I’m mostly not using Bluesky while in Texas for Disability:IN. Except when back in room, maybe.

/me starts reading post on building an accessible model dialog using `<dialog>`. /me comes to this sub-head about five paragraphs in. Me: “Ok then.” /me ignores remaining 2,000 words, closes tab, adds site to block list. Me: “That was a good use of everyone’s time.”

This is one way to get rid of your Real Doll overstock: “New York School District Shells Out $58K for a Robot Teaching Assistant” www.pcmag.com/news/a-robot... I’m driving through Salamanca this weekend. Well, I might route around it, actually.

I missed that Georgetown not only purged posts from its former provost, it also took down the entire blog. So this banger exists only in the Wayback: “Eating our Seed Corn” (about ‘AI’) web.archive.org/web/20240703... Found because I was updating a post on my site and this link was dead.

Are you a screen reader user who relies on F6 navigation? Maybe you have an opinion on navigating landmarks on web pages via a proposed `focuslandmark`? github.com/openui/open-... #HTML #accessibility #a11y

Went to a show with a lot of hippies in the crowd for the first three acts and was afraid I’d have to do all the skanking for the ska final act but then the 2 tone started and skankers came out of the woodwork and I may have thrown out my hip.

Here's a new one: ICE *prevented* a man from self-deporting by a June 11 deadline — he asked ICE to let him leave and had a one-way plane ticket for June 10. Then ICE re-detained him because he missed the deadline. Due process violation, judge rules. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
