I have family whose church doesn’t allow Halloween and I visited a church with a friend once and you could do Halloween but your costume and decorations couldnt be anything like a skeleton, ghost, devil, witch etc

I did this once to DC. I almost always check my bag so walking on a plane unencumbered is nothing new to me but walking into an airport that way felt very wrong

yeah I spent too much time outside of church to personally accept that theology. I do think redemption/ salvation is available to anyone but their hearts needs to be truly changed and their recent acts should reflect that 🤷‍♀️

the golden rule is a good concept and worthy of following but I also try to live by a cousin of it which is “if everybody did or didn’t do the things you do or don’t do would the world be a better or worse place?” which I’m sure has a name but it’s something I’ve been working on

my whole adventure with figuring out that GLP broke gummies for me as well as my gyno telling me not to trust birth control pills when I’m taking it has me wondering how the pill versions of GLP work. would be interested in reading about it if anybody knows anything

the pitch for me is more a community of like-minded people which I think is valuable now more than ever and the opportunity for something personally meaningful that is worth taking a look at if your heart is even a little open to it

church doesn’t give me peace I wouldn’t say but it gives me comfort that other people see Jesus / the world the way I see him and it makes me more consciously effortful in my desire to be like him (because he’s on my mind more) but I don’t feel any better about like current events or anything
