Thank you :) I know the 80s & 90s stuff - or, at least, the singles anyway. I always quite liked Land of Confusion and Invisible Touch. I knew that they had a weirder past though, which is often right up my street!
I didn't know she wrote Toxic! CGYOOMH is amazing - I can't really explain why, but it *sounds* like someone making themselves ill through obsession. But in a danceable way!
This was a mistake.
You have to check though, don't you. What if you end up stumbling on the music you've waited your life to hear?
This isn't that though.
I should have done my research! Mine, though, will not even attempt a story: it will just relentlessly be scene after scene of everyday scenarios being ruined by a flying shark.
I think "arse" is fine, and "bloody" too - if you have someone shouting that, I think it tells you the character is angry or frustrated by something without going overboard. And I think that's my limit!
Bob Stanley, in his book Let's Do It, describes Blossom Dearie as looking like she was drawn by Charles Schultz, which I think is both lovely and accurate.
Thor Ragnarok in first place for me, which was no surprise.
More surprising was having Captain Marvel and The Marvels in my top ten! But I'm not about to argue with myself.
I love this. Also, just noticing it was made in the 60s, i'm wondering if a photograph of Paul McCartney was used as reference? There's a vague resemblance but also the early '60s collarless grey suit!
