It wasn’t just Covid either. His work during the early years of the aids epidemic were transformative. This man is a historical figure who has undoubtedly changed the landscape for medical science and the conversation surrounding systemic inequality in medical treatment. We still have a ways to go.

I personally think that there should be a separate board of trained medical professionals who are also educated in politics, who can make a decision on things like scientific grants and medical research, and medical civil rights etc. untrained politicians should not be making decisions like that.
