we did not talk at all over voip or text chat. there is no way to guarantee we end up on the same instance when going down to the next level. we would simply find eachother in any universe

i just had a run where i did this to a barbarian on ruins 1st floor and accompanied them through multiple pvp encounters, looted key room pile after killing the guy trying to open it. then met up with him on floor 2 and did it all again. then met up on floor 3 for one last ride

dark and darker is better than marathon because i can pick cleric and do what i call "duckling gaming" where i deck myself out in a full anti-undead/healing spells loadout and imprint onto the first other player i see and become a healbot for them through thick and thin

last thing a forgotten beast sees before a swarm of emotionally jaded dwarves swing it around with their teeth like a dog with a stuffed animal

if you're gonna make an asym pvp game at this point give up clinging to the horror thing and just make a game about a farmer trying to corral animals into pens
