This reminds me a lot of homebrew beer judging advice, which is: discuss results, not processes/intentions. That is, saying "this has more banana than suits the style/balance" is fine, but you shouldn't say "this is more banana than you wanted", or "this used WLP300 yeast, fermented too warm".
