I learnt my way round a car engine in the 70s from NFDad. We seemed to have our heads under the bonnet of our dark grey Volvo 144L (MSG 394G, fact fans) every chuffing weekend. All knowledge that's absolutely useless now that you can't even look at a car engine without a PhD in computer science.
