I think in addition to sexism it’s revealing the bootlicking soul of Americans. We’re supposed to kiss the feet of our betters who deign to take notice of our work. How dare she be so ungrateful etc. Plus the usual “if you dislike anything popular you’re mean” attitude of our infantilized culture
