Do you remember what happened in the rest of the poem? Do you know how much of the population Jewish people were in Germany in 1933? Who cares about "keeping everyone happy?" I don't want to keep Nazis happy. And this is just capitulating to them. It won't "keep them happy," it will embolden them.
