I went to the grocery store with my family when I was growing up. I took my kids - that's how they learn to shop for groceries. I have never once been irritated by any kids in the store, but people pushing past others to go quick that gets on my last nerve.

I’m sorry but the only person who should be denied access to the grocery store is this person.

I hope you mean just people who literally bump into you or barely miss you or similar, because I don't fault people who are just fast shoppers on a mission as long as they're not rude. like while I do think kids should be given a lot of tolerance since they haven't had time to learn yet,

I really can't fault someone who is doing their best to be friendly but deep down gets stressed out and frustrated by kids making mistakes in ways that get to them such as violating personal space, sensory overload stuff. that said yeah they're douchey for implying that the kids should not be there

Yes, the douchey-ness of people who assume children should not be in a public place is the issue. And I don't mean places that are designed to be for adults. I mean places that are open to the general public - stores, restaurants, parks, etc.

I mean literally pushing past and making everything about them, their needs, and their convenience without regard to others needs and convenience. People who happen to be faster than me are really not uncommon.
