Please note also that the SNAP card, in at least some jurisdictions, is visually very distinctive, because we can't let people just have a food subsidy card without shaming them a little bit. We persist in seeing financial straits as a moral failing and it's frankly a sin.

They can shop in normal stores and swipe a card like anybody else. If this store gets "aid for poor people" stink on it, it'll be underutilized, which would suck for everyone.
