I looked at their website. The “green” refers to how they remove algae from water in a “green” manner, meaning ecologically sound. But then it’s hard to square that with *dumping gallons of bleach* into the water. Bleach does break down rapidly, but not so great for the paint I’d assume.

The reflecting pool is granite, a semi porous stone that is not designed to take paint well. The paint already had one strike against it. Secondly, it should have cured for at least a month to have the best shot of adhering. They rushed filling it with water in order to have it done by Trump's bday.

The pool is shallow, in order to reflect a typical pool pump cannot be used. The ripples would affect the reflection. Birds poop in the pool, poop has bacteria. Water evaporates and has to be refilled, the water isn't purified. It was always a losing battle.
