"Polarization" implies two sides moving further apart. That is not happening. The left has stayed where they have been since 1960's LBJ (Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, Great Society, etc.). The right is simply becoming extremist. Reagan would be shocked at today's right. They've lost it.
