2/4 It's because so many Americans are channeling patriotism to try to stop those who are hell-bent on destroying its founding principles. On undoing 250 years of efforts to move forward on "liberty and justice for all," protections for workers, children, the elderly, consumers, the environment.

3/4 We are showing up to protest, vote, help candidates who get the urgency of the moment, fight for due process for immigrants. This should have been a celebration of national unity, as it was in 1976, when Watergate had just shown that we really could hold the most powerful among us accountable.
