I feel like Kain's story as a playable protagonist can be viewed as done at the end of Blood Omen, which gave rise to Raziel's, and finally, a reuniting of the two in Defiance. Right-hand, and in a way, forgiving him for what he was put through is so beautiful. It literally restores Kain's soul to be uncorrupted and metaphorically represents him finally having an ally after being manipulated, abandoned, and being driven by cruelty for so long. I think people are so used to

Having endings that just wrap everything up and sometimes, they don't. As I've gotten older I've become okay with that. I know it was never intended to be THE ENDING but we could've done a lot worse I think. And if you want more... You can make something yourself, like this beautiful piece of art :)

GOD DON'T THEY MAKE ME UNWELL LMAO but yeah i love how everything kind of wraps up and because of the way time was looping having a continuation could of only happened if it was kain going to i guess finally kill the elder god for good and kain and Raziel having banter.

but like, there wasn't rly much other opportunities to continue the game other than that, so in a way im happy with the outcome of defiance, i did always like how kains journey ended where it began in time.
