Something I bought in an 8 oz package last Wednesday is now the same price today—for 6.4 oz. Almost a full quarter shrinkage on one week. I go to the grocery store and rave like a lunatic. You’ve probably seen me. You probably are me.

I gasped through my grocery store yesterday. Goldfish 2.89 a small bag. Used to be 2 For 5 dollars a short time ago. Average price on most items is 5 dollars. Bread, cereal ….unsustainable.

Carbohydrates are out of sight We’re trying to focus on proteins We do a lot of stirfry and a lot of rice

Legumes and eggs (priced against other proteins still cheaper) I recommend Latino and Asian markets. Not all are priced less but in some items they're a good deal. Get a friend or two and go to Costco and divy up the haul.

I agree. We go to a Middle Eastern market (where one can also get a bidet attachment for the toilet just saying) They have great produce, very good nuts and fresh oven baked pita bread that they shovel onto big wooden planks Overall, prices are better Some independent grocers in general

I got my bidet attachment from Amazon during Covid and love it. The Asian ones are getting expensive- rice noodles for pho have doubled in cost. Things like bean sprouts, fresh herbs, veggies are still a lot cheaper than “regular” stores

As soon as we got word that we were lacking down, I ordered two because I thought it through and figured that was a great option We got lucky and we got them Within 24 hours they were out of stock
