if youre hiding 1½ trillion dollars in debt then you aint just stealing from investors, youre stealing from every living person on the entire planet.

💯 (and the co-CEOs were also stealing from their 900 employees and arguably all of central California. but of course the investors are who mattered in court.)

now, I need to stress that this company was not well run. and there is substantially more reason for investors to want to hold on to the idea that the ai bet might ever pay off for them. I just … think about this. a lot.
