This is not in response to any one specific persons. I am seeing so many people saying how appalled and disgusted and angry they are it has drowned out terms to actually search for. I am seeing so many memes and clips of conferences I dont even know what to be angry about. Everything isn't enough.

The danger of conspicuous activism is it vents your fleeting emotion before it turns into action. The people you need to persuade and guide and change will only view the outbursts as a temper tantrum, and it galvanizes them. And it drowns out real discussion to make you the center of attention.

If you see people who need help, you help them. If there are more people in the world that need help, you still help them. And if your leaving a situation clearly visible is what lets helpers identify a problem, then you *still help*, even more than your action of flagwaving.
