Even if you could, it's not the point and you spend the rest of the time progressing further, learning more and contributing more. Badly confused the product and the process. See also the 'AI could write a PhD thesis' claims.

How do you both teach someone to conduct good field research and have them actually do it in this time frame? Honestly. I don't know how one would do that. In my doc program, we had a guy on the GI Bill who finished in 3 years, but he literally did not sleep. He also used existing data.
