Fauci accuses Rand Paul of having an "unhinged obsession with calling for my prosecution" and of making "repeated slanderous comments," then says "although it pains me to do so... under advice of my attorneys, I will invoke my right under the 5th Amendment to refrain from answering your questions."

Respects to Dr. Fauci. Rand Paul is unhinged. They are trying to use Dr. Fauci as a scapegoat for Trump's extreme COVID failures, costing countless lives.

No. They use this to distract from all the Trump failures going on right now

“Hundreds of Americans continue to die from COVID-19 each week. Over 80% of recent fatalities with known age data occur in adults aged 65 and older. COVID-19 is expected to stay with us indefinitely, having transitioned from a global emergency into an endemic virus similar to the flu.”

About 1 million excess deaths occurred in 2020 and 1.1 million in 2021 due to DJT’s botched pandemic policies. He tossed the Obama administration’s manuals that provided protocols to use in case of a pandemic. He dissolved the WH pandemic office in May 2018. He politicized public health.

I remember it all so well. One of my sisters fell for the bs about the vaccine, refused to get the shot, or wear a mask. She continued to teach classes despite news of the rapid spread. She died of Covid because of the stupid maga propaganda that Trump helped spread. Trump is a psychopath.

Ответ для Abigail Colter

I'm sorry you lost your sister to Covid from Trump's egregious neglect and blatant refusal to help keep us all safe. He is despicable.

Thank you for posting this video. It brings back the horror of what we faced as the pandemic raged through our country and the world—while DJT played golf and downplayed the public health crisis.

And don't ever forget Trump suggested people drink bleach and shine "ultraviolet or just a very powerful light"up your butt holes to cure Covid. And, the stupid Senate repubs want to put Fauci behind bars. What a fucking joke.

It wasn’t Dr Fauci who called Covid a Hoax

This is what Rand Paul should always be remember for.

Not only incompetence, but malfeasance.

💯

Fauci has “saved more lives, created more infrastructures 4 developing research opportunities, cured more people, provided healthcare 2 more people in US and abroad, probably, than any single scientist in his lifetime,” Larry Corey, infectious-disease expert at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Ctr

Truly!

Nothing EPSTEIN to EPSTEIN see EPSTEIN here.

10 of Trump’s big falsehoods about COVID-19President Donald Trump has faced many adversaries, but none as unbending and deaf to his words as the coronavirus.  Early on in the outbreak, as Trump was saying the country had just a handful of case...politifact.com

Wait, you're saying Republicans got people killed with their deliberately reckless, idiotic response to COVID? Someone alert the New York Times.

More chaos to deflect from the #EPSTEINFILES…#releasetheEpsteinfiled

Really doesn't seem like years later we need to go back to this when we have new crap to deal with, distraction. Let's see the epstein files. !

Paul should be thankful. An experimental treatment (maybe Paxlovid?) saved his boss’s effing life. Dump was so sick I remember feeling a little sorry for him, the one and only time—but sorrier still for the rest of us that he remained among the living.

Yes. He's doing the right thing, not engaging with them. It'll drive them crazy. He's wise not to participate

You can't debate lies. There is no point.

Disrespectful? They need to replay Bondi, Hegseth, etc. testimony to Congress if they want to see what disrespect looks like.

Rewrite history is the top priority of stinky Diaper's administration. And deflecting from the Epstein files, treason, etc.

We’re so over the likes of Rand Paul These are the insane jerks we need to get rid of. I think I have enough years left to see Rand gone Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley; Ron Johnson, Chuck Grassley And Kennedy who talks with the fake southern drawl Cindi Hyde smith.

💯. Trump fucked up and lost the election so now he’s blaming Fauci. Instead of letting people do their jobs, like Fauci and Pense, who headed the Covid Commision, Trump pushed everyone out and took it over. Trump is to blame.

Ответ для PatsyElle

But he won that election in a landslide but was cheated out of it.😏

Absolutely. Trump should be in jail for crimes against humanity for continuously lying to us about Covid.

The Ashley Biden diary had only one entry by Ashley. The rest was written by the roommate because Ashley never moved in with her. All the diary had from Ashley was one entry. When they broke THAT story, it should have ended. But Republicans kept pounding home the salacious lies to further hate.

Donald Trump is a mass murderer

It's unbelievable how Trump tries to relitigate his past failures and spin them into "no fault victim" or success. The 2020 election and the handling of the COVID19 pandemic. WE HAVE IT ALL ON RECORD. Trump failed miserably. He refused to listen to experts like Dr. Fauci. Rand Paul is an idiot.

Ответ для Gary

It’s plain to see why Rand Paul dropped out of the medical profession. He’s apparently an artless quack.

Ответ для edj

While Dr. Fauci has a solid medical background and that's what Rand Paul is afraid of...TRUTH grounded in science and medicine. Covid was REAL!

Ответ для HappyJoker

Rand Paul admitted COVID19 was real, but he went out of his way to criticize everything Dr. Fauci did, to the point of blaming him for creating the virus in the first place. Absolute insanity.

Ответ для edj

He was so bad at ophthalmology, that he formed an ophthalmology association just so he could use it to praise his own practice and accredit friends. The board dissolved in 2011 due to lack of any accreditation. Rand Paul is a fraud.

Ответ для Gary

Dr. Fauci is too smart for his games. The man did the best he could during the pandemic . I wore a mask in the beginning but no one forced me to wear it

Ответ для Joan Ronhock

I wore a mask, a GOOD MASK, not a cheapie or a bandana. And I also realized that the mask is really about shielding from contagion spread, NOT about being fully protected from exposure. That's the thing most people didn't realize. Masking was to hold back YOUR possible infection.

Ответ для Gary

In the beginning when we had cloth masks yes, and now n95s and the like protect from Covid and other airborne viruses. We know many cases are asymptomatic so we should all still be wearing masks at minimum in medical settings.

Ответ для Danasaur

That seems like overkill, given that the vaccine merely renders infection asymptomatic but still transmissible. There's really no realistic hope of exterminating it, only of getting people who'd be vulnerable vaccinated first so that they don't have life-threatening levels of infection.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

There are many studies about the long term effects of even mild and asymptomatic infections. The media has ignored most of it. People I love are disabled from Covid. It causes brain damage and messes with your immune system. Ignoring the real and ongoing dangers to the many vulnerable people is icky

Ответ для Danasaur

There's really not much we can do about that.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

There is a lot which could be done about it yet the political will to do so is missing so far.

Ответ для Mrs d’Arcy 😷💉🇵🇬🇮🇳🦘

I don't see what. We can't cure the virus, the vaccine leaves people transmissible while it prevents them from having symptoms, and the cost of isolation and masking is higher than people will pay merely to reduce the spread.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

We can require air filtration and provide masks as well as recommend them and require masks in medical settings and public transportation etc. The press can publish the studies that prove that it’s not harmless and causing disability. We can just acknowledge the truth of it rather than gaslight

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly
Ответ для Mrs d’Arcy 😷💉🇵🇬🇮🇳🦘

They decided that protecting people from a disabling virus was bad for capitalism

Ответ для Danasaur

Do more socialistic nations have such requirements as you recommend?

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

You don’t need to be vulnerable to have an infection going wrong. The vaccine does prevent infection but not 100% like e.g. a measles vaccine.

Ответ для Mrs d’Arcy 😷💉🇵🇬🇮🇳🦘

No, it -reduces- infection. It neither prevents people from contracting Covid nor from transmitting it. It keeps infections from heightening to the point of killing people or even of feeling ill, which is a pretty big improvement over nothing.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

Which is wonderful but it does damage regardless of how bad the infection was. I haven’t been sick in almost seven years because i mask but i can’t not say with confidence that i never had Covid.

Ответ для Danasaur

I masked and I still got it. Like a very unpleasant, deep-seated chest cold. It almost certainly is still in my system at some level, although the major infection has been fought to the point of no symptoms. You can't even say that you don't have Covid right now, unless you test for antibodies.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

Yes. And there are studies that show that the virus stays in you for months, even years. In the beginning we wore crappy masks and it took me a while to figure out how to fit check even the good ones. Nothing is 100 percent effective. We have to take all the safety measures so no one has to isolate.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly
Ответ для Mrs d’Arcy 😷💉🇵🇬🇮🇳🦘

When the vaccine was first made available in Canada, and isolation restrictions were rescinded for those who received it, researchers studied how infection rates changed... and they didn't. Covid is infectious before it causes noticeable symptoms, and remains so even if people are vaccinated.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

The vaccine primes the body to resist the virus, which grants a very minor reduction in the rates of contracting the virus, and reduces the amount of virus shed. But it was always the case that the huge overproduction of virus means most of it dies uselessly, but infection is very likely.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

So far, so clear. Yes, you are infectious prior to having symptoms. You can catch it despite being vaccinated as the protection is not 100%. How do you study infection rate? It depends on so many variants.

Ответ для Mrs d’Arcy 😷💉🇵🇬🇮🇳🦘

If you look at various journal articles about Covid vaccine effectiveness, you'll note that they focus on hospitalization, symptom severity, and death rates. Quite appropriately. And the vaccines improved patient outcomes in all those cases. But what about infection rates?

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

It's quite difficult to find discussions of -infection rates- rather than patient outcomes, since there are obvious reasons to focus on the good news. The source I originally had was an interview with a PSU researcher during the pandemic which is no longer on the web. Hmmm.

Ответ для Cerulean Butterfly

May I ask - why do you feel it is an overkill to mask in medical settings? Would we not want to avoid infection as even mild or even asymptomatic ones do harmful things in your body? Or did I misunderstand your response?

Ответ для Mrs d’Arcy 😷💉🇵🇬🇮🇳🦘

Their perspective seems to be "it's here, it's not going away, so really, why bother?" Masking in public settings when an outbreak is reported to be in motion is an important thing. MOST infections are asymptomatic. You don't know you've got it, as you sniffle with what seems to be a cold. MASK UP!

Ответ для Gary

Bc every infection does damage? To the lining of your cells, i.e. all organs? Could cause ME/CFS? etc.

Ответ для Mrs d’Arcy 😷💉🇵🇬🇮🇳🦘

Every infection will do some damage, but for a majority it's recoverable. The nature of the damage can be different. I got COVID19 once. I lost my sense of taste and smell and it took a couple of months to fully return. No other perceived damage. A friend of mine still suffers long COVID effects.

Ответ для Gary

I am not sure how recoverable it is? And what the long term damage is, like changes in the heart, the brain, diabetes etc. Thinking ms and the link to epstein-barr.

Ответ для Gary

I wore one of those good masks to church in the beginning of covid, I actually was having a hard time breathing, I had to take it off . Turns out covid was really nothing more than a bad cold

Ответ для Joan Ronhock

Unless you're one of the people for whom it becomes life-threatening. All of the masking and isolation was intended to help keep them alive long enough for a vaccine to be created.

Ответ для Joan Ronhock

No. SARSCoV2 acts very differently on the body than a common cold. I wonder why you cannot breathe properly with a mask. Ever checked?

Ответ для Gary

Yep. Covid doesn't live for very long outside the body, but there was a good chance it would remain on someone's clothing long enough for them to go home and demask. That's assuming people weren't wearing the masks on their chins for some reason, of course.

Ответ для Gary

With an FFP3 you are shielded from infection. I have not heard of anyone catching it that way.

Ответ для Joan Ronhock

Masking continues to prevent Covid which continues to disable people and cause other bad health outcomes. There is no reason not to continue wearing them. Especially in medical settings.

Ответ для Gary

Fauci’s innocent diary of his daily notes thru Covid is dangerous in the enemies’ hands. Mischaracterizing!! But the diabolical Kennedy gave Paul the personal diary!! found in HHS files during his research of actions during Covid. There is no one to impress in a diary that no one would ever read!

Ответ для Marty

I actually didn't know this. So... brain worm eaten roadkill feasting RFK Jr. found the personal diary of Dr. Anthony Fauci and just hands it over to Rand Paul? FUCK HIM. Dr. Fauci needs to sue both of these men.

Ответ для Gary

Yes - Kennedy is despicable! 😡

Ответ для Marty

His own family agrees. They really detest him for what he has done. They pleaded with him not to get mixed up with Trumpian politics. He wouldn't listen. They tried to convince him that vaccines work and that anti-vax is dangerous ignorance. He shrugged that off. #RFKJr

That’s exactly what they are doing. 🍊🤡 is responsible. Another marker they are trying to erase from history like J6.

Makes one wonder what Paul wants from Trump tht he’s doing this. I understand he’s got his own imaginary one to pick with Fauci. I also recognize that like Trump, Paul is petty and not so bright but even he must have enough grey matter to recognize this is performative nonsense.

Ответ для DougofGabriola🇨🇦

I'd like to know Rand Paul's motivations as well. He was horrible throughout the pandemic. He caught COVID, and then went to gym with other leaders. He was also caught in campaign finance violations, inc. taking money from Russia.

Ответ для Chris⚖️Justice

It’s his own pettiness. However, I just watched a little of his statement at the hearing and it’s clear he and the GOP are trying to shift the blame for the deaths of American’s off Trump. So what does he get if he manages to do that because that’s a big ask from Trump. He’s going to try to hold /1

Ответ для DougofGabriola🇨🇦

Fauci in contempt but it will get thrown out if it ever gets to a courtroom. I think Fauci should go after him for releasing private journals. That has to breach some privacy laws. At the very least they should look long and hard at that possibility.

Ответ для DougofGabriola🇨🇦

Crazy I wonder when trump - convicted felon - might finally have to answer for some of his atrocities before/during/after Covid and well beyond

Ответ для Kat

I’m not convinced he ever will. Not at the pace the U.S. justice systems moves. If he does end up in viurt again they are going to have to clear the judges calendar and set parameters around how long decisions take to be made.No 3 weeks to render a decision every other judges makes from the bench 1/

Ответ для DougofGabriola🇨🇦

On during the hearing like judge Canon did repeatedly. No 8 months to render a decision like SCOTUS did on immunity.

Ответ для DougofGabriola🇨🇦

1/ I think he's going after Fauci because he wants to connect Fauci with the Wuhan lab, and 'prove' a lab leak. That would see Fauci in prison and give 47 a reason to Tariff 🇨🇳. Of course, if they do tariff 🇨🇳, the US economy will crumble, people will die from lack of meds, med equip, etc but ....

Ответ для Connie

These aren't people that think and plan well or consider unintended consequences. OTOH, a sick, broke and starving population will be much more easily manipulated and accepting of fascism. See Germany, prior to Hitler.

Ответ для Connie

I distinctly remember Trump wanting to ban PPE shipments to Canada. Someone at 3M had to slap some sense into him because they get the raw materials for N95 masks from Canada. Specifically the mill across the harbour from where we live lol!

Ответ для DougofGabriola🇨🇦

Yes, shifting the blame (and focus) from Trump has always been their goal. Because he should be in prison for it now.
