Before the RSF seized the refinery in Khartoum, the Central Bank of Sudan had been accumulating gold reserves. These reserves had reached 7.2 tons in October 2021, when the RSF joined forces with the Sudanese Armed Forces to overthrow the transitional government. (FT)
