A great rule of thumb that's made it click for a few people I know is to "look ahead" - if you're unsure what's correct, always go with what the person is transitioning TO. IE: if someone was Assigned Male At Birth (AMAB for short) and is transitioning to Female, that would make her a Trans Woman.

My pennies worth , I was assigned Male at birth , Back in the 60s there was no words i could use to describe "myself " When I tried i was beaten within an inch of my life . Fast forward at 16yrs I joined the military as a junior soldier (that was allowed in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 , without parental permission
