A similar compilation - but "A Arte de Jorge Ben" - that I chanced on in cassette form in Germany, got me into Brazilian music.
A good sampler is a great way to get into the entrails of a new area of music. A bad compilation can scar you for life ... (at least as regards that artist, genre, ...)
