An ugly truth-- a HUGE amount of Hollywood is non-union work. I'm on IMDb. You've probably heard of two or three things listed on my page. The absolute best film industry year I ever had, financially, I earned $43K. And that's before taxes. In southen California. It's a VERY blue collar industry.

People think "Hollywood" is rich and famous. The reality? Film and TV is a national industry. It's a blue collar industry. And it is an industry free fall. My latest for @newrepublic.com on how the Paramount merger would crush blue collar workers who can not afford it newrepublic.com/article/2136...

Over 400 of you have liked this brutally true bit of my backstory so now I'm contractually required to bring up my present and point you all at my pinned post.

Oh, hey there... I write books. They tend to fall into a speculative-sci-fi-horror sort of zone. The newest, THE OFF SEASON, is out in April 2027. GOD'S JUNK DRAWER is out now, with a paperback coming this November. I post about writing, toys, movies, and other stuff I enjoy. You've been warned.

I somehow missed news of "The Off Season." I have now read the summary, which made me instantly wishlist it.

I didn’t realize that you were H.I.M. in Il Fatas (no subtitles)

I look completely different in a suit.

I’ve been realizing that lately. The majority of actors in everything aren’t known names. I’ve read they aren’t paid well. Imma look you up.

I do hope the merger gets blocked!!!! In a way similar to when Adobe wasn't allowed to swallow Figma AND had to give 'em a billion on their way out the door.

Similar here as an editor and AE for Hallmark before they moved post to Canada.

Hallmark was the last place I worked full time before I got out.
