Mobile Sue Gundam II: Soldiers of Suerrow

This is a big reason why I settled on not bothering to continue with the FF7 remakes. Rebirth was wholly bloated for me. Rather than a game that felt like they were trying to improve upon the original, all they did was add fetch quests and more mini-games, two things FF7 did not need.

I liked being able to walk around the world more and explore. It really hit outta the park for me. But that could be alot of nostalgia

I felt that with Midgar. Granted, my criticism is my own and I don't fault anyone for enjoying Rebirth, but it felt really inflated and unnecessary for me. Not to mention the Nomura portions did not land well or make me feel good about the trajectory of the story.

I'm always happy for players getting a chance to experience a story that meant a lot to me, but even with how much I enjoyed Remake, there are very few remakes/reimaginings that need to be made. I'd rather a new game than another rehashing of something a company knows or believes will print cash.

Which in turn is a whole other issue to tackle: companies taking risks with new games. If AAA game companies didn't need to cost MILLIONS of dollars, we'd see bigger swings or maybe creators feeling more confident and able to make new stories. But with that much capital, risks are rare.

What will a remake of 6 say that the original didn't? What is it they want to convey or improve upon? Because if it is correcting glitches and some quality of life changes, then we have a few versions of FF6 that already have those.
