I love starting the year using the intro to Edward Said’s “Orientalism” & the TEDTalk “Danger of a Single Story” in my AP Seminar course. It gets the students thinking about multiple lens/stakeholders. The problem is that students get conditioned to only look at a western/centric idea of history.
