The street outside my home is flooded due to the sudden deluge of rain. Cars are driving through it anyway. Do not do this. Some are driving through it fast, as if that’s going to help. Do not do this either. Fast is worse, folks—for you and everyone else.

I swear people think they are living in a cartoon, that if they drive fast enough, the car will just skim the water.

Oh it will skim, but cars do not have rudders.

You can’t see what’s actually going on in or with a road that’s flooded. Speed is your enemy under those conditions. You’re also more likely to hydroplane or create a wake that floods another vehicle’s engine. Just don’t do it. Turn around. It’s not worth it.

I'm so mad at these people.

Ugh, it's coming this way to NYC. I keep getting Notify NYC texts. I ALWAYS see people drive through water....and I just say to no one, 'Uh, dude. Don't do that!'.

oh shit, y'all getting hammered, and it's gonna get worse when what's in Milwaukee gets there later tonight....😳

And if your car stops in the water. DON'T TRY TO START IT! Your engine will be toast! When I was younger me and friends would block off a notably low intersection during heavy rain. If people drove past us, we tried to yell at them not to start then inevitably helped roll the car to a nearby lot
