Struck by how the funding announcements reached a peak in Trump's first term second year, but in Project 2025 Trump 2.0 they absolutely flipped the script. Like they'd just been waiting for the real opportunity to gut everything, which then presented itself.

It has been utterly depressing to open NIH funding announcement emails over the past year to see that the only entries are for terminations of existing programs. It's good to see hard data on just how bad the numbers really are.
