moralrecordings26 июл., 06:46Seems that past me installed Ubuntu 12.04, went a bit "oh." at how much X11/Unity struggled with the weird drivers, and decided to wait for conditions to improve... maybe it's finally happened!
Corinne Green26 июл., 15:11i mean if i had 512MB of unified memory i probably wouldn't want to ruin ubuntu either it's a lot easier now because foss heroes have been steadily improving our open source drivers. i'm wrestling w/ video acceleration on the xe303c12 bc the codec hardware still needs some shitty samsung binary
moralrecordings26 июл., 15:22I was shocked by how svelte Ubuntu 12.04 is! The desktop only used 200mb, which seems mad compared to today's Linux. Wonder how much of that is down to ARM7 32-bit being more memory efficient than x86-64, or the old desktop having less background stuff...
