𓆤 Tennessee is home to 30 species of fireflies, and the Common Eastern Firefly is the official state insect. ⛰️ The phenomenon of the synchronous firefly mating display in the Great Smoky Mountains happens between May - June. The National Park Service holds a reservation lottery for viewing access.
