Man, this is such a nihilistic take. Forget Lord of the Rings. My kids have watched The Wizard of Oz. The Godfather. Planet of the Apes. TONS of classics that are quite a bit older than 30 years, and they’ve enjoyed and appreciated them all.

99% of recent movies seem to be “indistinguishable characters mumble in the dark while deafening explosions go on.” I’ll gladly take Lord of the Rings instead of that nonsense.
