I had the reverse as I was born and raised on NES to SNES & N64..I didn't play PlayStation at all until on a whim I rented a PS2, Final Fantasy X, and Kingdom Hearts.

Omg this made me remember being able to rent consoles from the big chain video rental stores haha my parents did not let me do that. I couldn’t think of two better games to start out with 🥹

Mine wasn't even a big chain rental place, just a small local chain. Used to go there every friday, rent a game, movie, get a pizza from the local place nearby..good times. They even had the Fire Emblem anime that came out before Smash Melee XD

I had to rent FFX..my closet trans butt saw Yuna on the cover of a Game Informer and thought "she's soo pretty..I wish I was her.." so I rented it..and my brother heard KH was good so we rented that (I thought the concept was stupid as hell..until I played it..now its a fav series..both are).

Played so many games I would never consider playing now because I was a kid with the simplest taste and would rent something because the box art was cool 😂 Much simpler times

Same..mostly cuz my friends had it. DKC2..probably wouldn't have as I was very Mario centric..but then I saw Dixie and was all 'I be cute female monkey? okay!' when my friend was playing or renting Persona 4 Arena on a whim and that night buying P4 Golden for the PSVita I won from Taco Bell XD
