One of my favorite themes in the game is how little self worth the Blacksmith has, so whenever the Knight compliments or praises him, he immediately thinks he is being mocked/insulted so he gets defensive fast... The Knight is empathetic enough to pick up on it so he's like: "naww...buddy..." :(
