Pomaks, a slavic-speaking ethnicity, have faced isolation & exclusion in mountainous areas of northern Greece. When borders opened, Pomak men emigrated and Pomak society experienced an unusual transformation. Article by my daughter Marta, based on 2023 fieldwork.
