I’ve said this a lot lately, but Resident Evil and Silent Hill both seem to have found a lot of success because they’re striking the balance between quality and quantity. Gamers are getting sick of massive wait times between games, and if there’s nothing to fill the void, people are moving on.

Yeah - for better or worse, Call of Duty has shown annual releases have an audience, and I think for single-player horror it works pretty well

You can even point to Zelda, where the series is bigger than ever because Nintendo is putting out 2D games, Warriors games, remakes, and DLC to make it nearly yearly. Yakuza is the same, too. Not every company can do this, but I think people are starving for the industry to take less time.

I'm fine with one a year as long as they keep the quality up and they aren't crunching their teams into dust to get them out the door.
