It's out! Happy to present ITEC, a semi supervised algorithm with an extremely low error rate that can track cells in files of any size (think Terabytes!). We found that ITEC (which can follow cells reliably across hundreds of time points (!!!) ) can reconstruct the cell lineages of somites from mixed domains at the onset of gastrulation, and also that cells in the margin (which involute and are hard to track) change their gene expression 🧪+

This was a collab between us (Yinan in Basel) and the lab of Guoqiang Yu (now in Tsinghua U) that started a long ago. Lots of meetings and lots of tinkering, but super happy with the results. All the code is open and user friendly, so let us know what you think! 🧪🐟
