I've been trying to study how 8-bit sprites were made and it is fascinating. The limitation of the hardware made people be creative when it comes to making games for the era. I also been using a shader to see how the characters look and how the shapes change with that visual.

oh

Spooky Month for NES

Those sprites are so faithful and recognizable to the character designs. God! I want to play a GBA spooky month game

I still need to figure out how to translate my characters into 16 bit sprites, but simple ones like this look like a good starting point!

Looks pretty cool, the only one with the shaders that I don't think it work out was the clown but I still like it without shaders. I love how awesome the shaders create new colors.

Limitations bring creativity in problem solving🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

i think father gregor should have the purple shading inbetween his eyes removed tbh because it makes the sprite less readable

This style exploration is great! Most of the characters translate pretty well. I also wanna try doing a project that replicates the 8-bit style accurately, hollow knight is one of the best recent examples of it. It can look super good when done properly.

That's neat

i love working within the 8 bit retro limitations it’s a fun creative exercise

Esta re epico me encanta
