Our big final planning exercise for Expeditionary Warfare School back in 2010 was an amphibious assault on Bandar e Jask, then pushing along the coast up past Minab, with a simultaneous seizure of Qeshm Island. We all joked at the time that the real lesson was “This is a terrible fucking idea.”
