Now I feel guilty about ordering all those love potions from Amazon. Maybe I'll just donate them to my local church.

In a similar vein to the unreality of the performances - the device of the “Wish Stick” took me out. In universe, it’s designed to be a nostalgic novelty like it’s ordered from the back of an old comic book. Why not make it something contemporary or at least of our world?

Yes, I just saw another review that was “It’s alright!” and that’s about where I landed as well.
