The house I bought in Greater Boston for ~$115K 30 years ago is now assessed at over a million. It doesn't look like a million-dollar home, not by a long shot. And I plan on living here for the forseeable future, unless I have to flee Nazis. So yeah, pied-à-terre is fair game.
