I wonder if they'll ever get to the point at 60 where they think "what a twat I've been". But no, likely will not happen. All the failed marriages and children not speaking to them will not have been their fault.

Right; it’s “every accusation is a confession” reified. They do things this way; therefore, *everyone* must do things this way. A fundamental inability to understand that other people don’t necessarily think the same way that they do.
