We got a DVD set of "Barney Miller" a couple of years ago, and while watching it, we were amazed at all the "NYC pollution" jokes. We both grew up in Queens, and were of course familiar with how bad things were in the 70's. But it had been long enough that jokes about it caught us by surprise.
