Man, this is such a nihilistic take. Forget Lord of the Rings. My kids have watched The Wizard of Oz. The Godfather. Planet of the Apes. TONS of classics that are quite a bit older than 30 years, and they’ve enjoyed and appreciated them all.

Bridge Over the River Kwai, The Great Escape, Blazing Saddles. My grandpa had a box full of old b&w WWII movies, we sat and watched them together, it was great!
