NPR just announced it has secured one of the biggest private windfalls in its history: 113 million dollars in philanthropic gifts, including 80 million dollars from Connie Ballmer, a longtime NPR supporter and former NPR Foundation board member married to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
