In Boulder we did not have winter. No snow. No cold. No snowpack to speak of. And now this. The wildlife and the vegetation are in trouble here. The damage is incredible.

You can see what happens when a system, and the misguided people indoctrinated within it, begin to fight against the laws of physics; they will lose the doctrine and the system will collapse, as anthropogenic climate change gradually undermines the very system that drives it. Yes. I should have said modern industrial societies rather than humankind. I sometimes think about how indigenous peoples, before first contact, had a healthy respect for Mother Nature and inherently understood sustainability, balance, and harmony.

We can either put ourselves on the path to sustainability, or the Laws of Physics will do it for us. Sadly, I think we are unlikely do it ourselves. We are going to pay a very heavy price in misery and suffering for our inability to adapt. 1/2

It’s really sad, because up until about 10 or 15 years ago, we probably could have turned it around. It would not have been easy, but it was likely possible. I no longer think it possible to avoid many of the devastating consequences of our short-sighted and selfish policies.
