I think they're trying to readmax, get through as many books as possible as quickly as possible. At least I think that's why some do it.

maybe some. I used to not read the epilogues or prologues because I was so excited to get to my next book maybe that’s what you meant, but I’m more defending myself that it’s not just because I wanted to increase my books read haha I’m better about reading them now though!

If that’s why, they’re really doing it wrong. I read 465 books last year (it’s how I’m coping with the state of the world), and I didn’t skip any prologues or epilogues.
