Chris Philp is the political equivalent of a stain on your carpet. Don't know how it got there; can't get rid of it; mostly forget about but when you notice it you get irritated all over again.
And a special thank you must go out to the Boundary Commision, who favorably carved up Philp's Croydon South constituency to enable him to cling on to his seat by a few hundred votes.
