The meme is a catch all in general for the behavior the persists online where so called anti establishment individuals tend to make an exception for the art they find disagreeable or “icky”.

And yes I’ve had at least 3 instances I can recall of people with anarchy in their bio telling me I should die or that the things I like somehow equals actual harm when it does not.

Agreed. Just because you find something distasteful/disgusting doesn't mean it should be punishable by 50 years in prison. Also hurt is not harm. Seeing art that upsets you is not the same as actual images of children being trafficked. Conflating the two actually desensitizes people to real harm.
