A dishwasher tale: Three days ago the Check Water light came on... hmmm, never done that before. Open dishwasher... indeed there is water in the bottom. Drain water by hand, check trap is clean (it is) Go to shops next day and buy dishwasher cleaner. Run dishwasher with cleaner stuff 1/

Okay... dishwasher all good. Yeah. Pack dishwasher and put on new load. Dishwasher goes nope... and Checkwater light comes on again. Yep: full of water in the bottom. New plan... get child to empty dishwasher water. Excellent... Go to shops day 2, buy different brand of dishwasher cleaner 2/

Run dishwasher on full pot cycle with just the cleaning stuff in it. Works perfectly. Pack dishwasher with dishes and drop a tablet in the machine... put on as a normal load.... Checkwater light comes on again... dishes not fully cleaned. Yell fuck... get child to empty water again. 3/

Great, will now have to email landlord to get them to send out repair person. One last variable to try... Run dishwasher on Pot Load without a tablet. Dishwasher runs just fine. Pack dishwasher... use powder not tablet... turn it on. It works. 4/

So issue is either bad batch of dishwashing tablets or dishwasher only works on pot load. Will attempt to isolate this down over the weekend, but for now at least I don't have to contact the landlord and I have clean dishes that I didn't need to get the children to handwash. End/

Mine (Bosch) was doing this last week. There is an impeller in that well, if some debris has stopped it from spinning the machine won’t pump out. YouTube ftw on the repair.

I just had my grey water ground drain power snaked because the dishwasher and kitchen sink weren't draining properly (although not totes blocked). Works like a charm now.

I had a similar problem with my dishwasher a year ago ish. It turns out in my dishwasher there is a piece of foam that floats to activate the sensor for the check water error message. The problem is that sometimes that bit of foam can get wedged and keep that sensor activated. 🤷🏻‍♀️
